Students, faculty, and staff at Caldwell University are able to borrow materials directly from other libraries in New Jersey with reciprocal borrowing programs. See below for more information on the VALE reciprocal borrowing and ReBL reciprocal borrowing programs. Please note all items borrowed directly from other libraries must be returned to those libraries.

Yes, there are two options for a non Caldwell University affiliated individual to borrow from Jennings Library.
1. VALE Reciprocal Borrowing- Faculty, students, and staff from participating VALE institutions can borrow up to 3 books from the Jennings Library. Books can be checked out for six weeks with one renewal. Media items cannot be checked out. You must bring your signed VALE Reciprocal Borrowing Application and your university ID with you to check out an item.
2. ReBL Patrons- ReBL is a reciprocal borrowing program for libraries in Essex County. You must obtain a ReBL sticker from your home Essex County public library. ReBL patrons can borrow up to 3 books from the Jennings Library. Books can be checked out for 6 weeks with one renewal. Media items cannot be checked out. Bring your public library card with a valid ReBL sticker to check out items.
All books borrowed from Jennings Library must be returned to Jennings Library. Please see our Circulation Policies page for loan periods and lost book fees.
You may want to go to another library and borrow books yourself. Caldwell students, faculty, and staff can borrow books from various member libraries of the VALE consortium.
Before visiting a VALE library, you will first need to fill out a VALE Reciprocal Borrowing Application Form, available at the Jennings Library Information Desk.
You must adhere to all check out dates and fines established by the lending library. All books check out from VALE consortium libraries must be returned to the same VALE consortium library.
