This course provides a financial understanding of the healthcare delivery system. Policy making and financing within the healthcare environment are explored. Students are exposed to the political and legislative process pertaining to healthcare policy development at the local, state and federal levels. The advocacy role of the nurse is discussed. Ethical and legal issues in nursing and healthcare policy are emphasized.
