NU 303: Health & Cultural Assessment Across the Lifespan Resources

OVERVIEW

Course Description

This course focuses on the concepts and principles underlying health assessment through history and physical examination of diverse individuals across the life cycle.  The role of the nurse in the organized and systematic approach to health assessment is emphasized.  The student will utilize interviewing techniques to obtain and record a comprehensive health history, and apply the clinical skills of inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation to perform a physical examination.  An appreciation of the impact of belief systems on healthcare practices is fostered.  Practice experiences will provide opportunities to develop competence in identifying, describing, and recording findings.
