Examples of Available OERs for Business
The following are examples of OERs that are current and available. This is a place to start learning about available OERs.
- MIT Sloan Case Studies & SimulationsAn online collection of case studies - some accompanied by audio - and playable simulations of management scenarios.
This is an online, free-to-read, free-to-play collection. It has a Creative Commons license that allows for use, distribution, and copying for educational purposes. Case studies are available for review as PDFs with watermarks, but you can request copies for use in your courses without a watermark. Find the "Educator Copy" button at the bottom of any case study page, and select which ones you want. Similarly, some simulations require an instructor to request a class code for access. Collection originally published in 2010, and cases have been continuously added through 2021.
OpenStax textbooks are all published with a Creative Commons Attribution license that allows reading, sharing, and adapting. Web versions are regularly updated and are accessible. PDFs are updated yearly and may not be accessible. These titles are available to read online or as a PDF for free and can be integrated with Blackboard. Prepared print copies are available for ~$30.
