Google Scholar provides a way to broadly search for scholarly literature.
From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles, from academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories, universities and other scholarly organizations. Google Scholar searches a specific subset of Google’s index and covers a wide range of academic content areas.
Google Scholar is not considered comprehensive for academic content. Here's what you should know:
Most Google Scholar search results are scholarly articles.
If Jennings Library owns a journal article you located using Google Scholar, there is usually a link reading "Full Text @ Caldwell" beside the citation.
Books results in Google Scholar are identified by [BOOK] preceding the citation title.
Citation-only results are indicated by [CITATION] preceding the citation title and mean the full-text is not available openly online.
Even if there isn't a "Full Text @ Caldwell" link, the full-text might be available in Jennings Library. Search for the title of the article in the "Article" or "Everything" search on the Jennings Library homepage.
If in doubt, ask a librarian!
