When doing company research using the "ticker symbol" (or "stock symbol") for the company is useful because it uniquely identifies the company. It's a combination of letters and/or numbers.

Ticker Symbol Examples:

• AAPL is Apple, Inc
• APLE is Apple Hospitality REIT, Inc.
• F is Ford Motor Company
• HD is Home Depot, Inc.
• O is Realty Income Corporations
